SUGGESTED TOPICS
- If you were a participant in the 2010 Winter Games, what would be your sport and why?
- Invent a new Olympic or Paralympic sport for the 2010 games. Tell us about it, draw a picture of it or demonstrate the sport and send us a video.
- If you had a day to spend with an athlete what would you do?
- Do you know of an athlete in your neighbourhood who is working toward the 2010 Winter Games? Can you tell us about the athlete?
- What is the scariest winter Olympic or Paralympic sport and why?
Feel free to choose your own topic on the Olympic and Paralympic Games .
PARAMETERS
Written entries should be no more than 500 words. The minimum entry is seventeen syllables. Multimedia entries should be no more than 5 minutes in length.
WHO CAN ENTER
This contest is open to all Canadian students with disabilities enrolled in grades K-12 and who use technology to write and/or create or record audio, visual or multimedia artwork. The entrant will need to obtain written permission from his/her parent/guardian. This can be done by completing the consent form and mailing it to SET-BC.
WINNERS
Categories include grades K-7, grades 8-12 and participation. Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes will be awarded. 1 iPod will be awarded as a Gold prize in each category. Silver and Bronze prizes are to be announced. All entrants will receive a certificate of participation.
Entries will be judged on:
- keeping to the theme
- originality
Participation prizes will be awarded based on a draw. Did we mention that everyone has a chance to win?
