Students from schools in the lower mainland met at the SET-BC Provincial Centre for a two day “camp”. Students worked in pairs to create a demonstration on an aspect of the program of their choice.

The March 11th Virtual Voices Village / SET-BC / 2010 Legacies Now / 3M Canada official launch event was a great success. Funded by the Canadian Braille Literacy Foundation, this annual contest encourages and rewards creativity and braille accuracy. Kids in grades 1-12 compete to win prizes for their original stories and poems.
Everyone who sends in a story or poem receives a certificate (print with braille overlay) as well as personalized comments about their entry from the judge (in both braille and print).

The course will be offered starting September 2008 and because of the flexible online learning environment, the course can be completed at the students pace, provided it is completed by June 12, 2009.
Timmy Technology will be passed on to our team of engineers and scientists to bring to life as a full 3D model. Our mascot will then travel around the province, visiting students and getting involved with future Virtual Voices Village projects.
